Joybound’s beautiful adoption and community center is a park-like setting where people of all ages can enjoy positive interactions with animals. In addition to our adoption and animal care center, our headquarters includes a learning center for humane education, state-of-art veterinary facilities, training pavilion, the Shelter to Service working animal training program, an honor wall in our public park, and a Boutique that sells pet supplies to support lifesaving programs.

Veterinary Emergencies
Please Note: Joybound’s clinic is unable to offer emergency veterinary services.
If you are experiencing a veterinary emergency, please contact your nearest emergency veterinary office. VCA Animal Hospitals and VEG ER for Pets both offer 24-hour, walk-in emergency care for pets and are proud partners of Joybound People & Pets. If you have reason to believe your pet has ingested poison, you can contact the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center Hotline at (888) 426-4435 (consultation fee may apply).
As a private, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, Joybound does not have jurisdiction to investigate or prosecute cases of animal abuse or neglect. To report a suspected case of animal abuse or another animal emergency, please contact your local animal services department. For most of Contra Costa County, please contact Contra Costa County Animal Services at (925) 608-8400. For Antioch, California residents, please contact Antioch Animal Services at (925) 779-6989.
