The East Bay Thrift Store Crawl begins on Saturday, August 1 and Joybound is celebrating with a kickoff event to remember!
Put on your thrifting shoes and join us at the Joybound Thrift Store, Cat Lounge & Adoption Center in Concord for a day of fabulous shopping, hidden prizes, and adorable animals. In addition to the adoptable kitties at the store’s Cat Lounge every day, Joybound’s mobile adoption team will be in attendance with even more adoptable dogs and cats looking for their second chances at love — with adoption fees waived for adult animals as part of Clear the Shelters! Plus, shoppers with a keen eye might be able to spot a “Golden Ticket” somewhere in the store, which could earn them a discount on their purchase during the event.
This event marks the start of the East Bay Thrift Store Crawl, where we’re teaming up with nonprofit-aligned thrift shops across the East Bay area to showcase how shopping thoughtfully and donating intentionally can create real, positive change for both the community and the environment. The Thrift Crawl encourages bargain hunters, vintage lovers, and eco-conscious consumers to explore local thrift stores while reducing waste and giving pre-loved items a second life. Every purchase helps keep usable goods out of landfills while supporting organizations that strengthen East Bay communities.

- Adoptions are done first-come, first served.
- We cannot guarantee the availability of particular animals, and we do not place animals on hold. Our available dog and cat listings are updated daily.
- As part of this year’s Clear the Shelters promotion, adoption fees for adult dogs and cats will be waived every Saturday in August.
About the East Bay Thrift Store Crawl
The East Bay Thrift Store Crawl celebrates local thrift stores that operate nonprofit organizations, using donated items and store sales to support meaningful work in their communities. From August 1 – August 18, we’re teaming up with nonprofit-aligned thrift shops across the East Bay area to showcase how shopping thoughtfully and donating intentionally can create real, positive change for both the community and the environment. Throughout those 18 days of fun, guests who shop at every one of the participating stores will be entered to win a gift card, with the raffle drawn the week of August 25.
