Joybound Receives 25 Kittens Displaced from Orange County Emergency

In response to a recent emergency in Orange County involving an imminent chemical explosion threat and the evacuation of tens of thousands of households within a 1-mile radius, animal welfare organizations, including Joybound People & Pets, coordinated the safe transfer of animals to support public safety operations.

To make room for displaced pets, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), in partnership with Orange County Animal Care and Joybound People & Pets, transferred 25 kittens from Southern California shelters to Joybound’s Walnut Creek campus. The transfer is part of a broader regional effort to ease shelter overcrowding and create space for displaced pets as emergency response operations continue.
