How the Guardian Program Works

- Personalized Placement: We honor your pet’s story. The information you share about their medical needs, personality, and preferences helps us find the ideal new family — ensuring joy and comfort for your companion.
- Ongoing Support: Our care extends beyond adoption. Joybound supports your pet’s new family with resources and guidance, fostering a smooth transition and lifelong success.
How to Enroll Your Pet
Eligibility for the Guardian Program requires participation in our Forever Joybound Legacy Society. Step one of the process is to contact Joybound about joining.
Step #1
Join Forever Joybound
Include a legacy gift of $5,000 or more per pet in your estate plans to support their care.
Step #2
Name an Interim Guardian
Designate a trusted person to ensure your pet is safely brought to Joybound should the need arise.
Step #3
Tell Us About Your Pet
Complete our Pet Information Form so we understand your pet’s unique needs and personality.
Step #4
Stay Connected
As a Forever Joybound member, you’ll receive exclusive event invitations, updates on your impact, and recognition in our community.

❤️ Who is eligible?
Joybound’s Guardian program is available to both cats and dogs — with a maximum of two pets per household.
❤️ What does the program provide?
The Guardian Program provides pets with comprehensive medical and behavioral assessment, veterinary care, enrichment, loving shelter, and adoption services.
❤️ Is there a fee?
The Guardian Program requires a minimum legacy gift of $5,000 per pet (up to two per household) is requested. Many supporters choose to leave more — every dollar helps save more animals.
