The Best-Dressed Pet Contest Returns Sunday
Plus a movie in the park, 90s hip hop on Pine, and 104 new units

Joybound People & Pets runs its biggest community event of the year Sunday, and Broadway Plaza becomes a pet festival for four hours. Adoptable animals come in from shelters across Northern California. There are dog training demonstrations, face painting, children’s activities, games, prizes, pet vendors, and a best-dressed pet contest that people take more seriously than you would think.
The day opens with an easy one-mile pet walk around downtown before the festival proper gets going. Bring the dog, bring the kids, and go in knowing that the adoptable-animal section is a dangerous place for anyone with a soft spot and a spare room… (Read more)
