Anonymous tip helped police track down thousands of dollars in stolen pet food taken from a Contra Costa County animal rescue organization.

Police chased down thieves, recovered thousands of dollars in stolen pet food, and returned the supplies a rescue organization after a theft rattled local animal advocates. The stolen food belonged to Joybound People and Pets, a Walnut Creek-based nonprofit that helps feed and care for animals across Contra Costa County.
