Our very own Mel got some time in the spotlight with Juliette Goodrich of KPIX 5 CBS News! Just a few weeks shy of the one-year anniversary of her rescue, she was thrown an “anti-birthday” party to help her find a loving home.

Through physical therapy, medication, and a lot of loving care, Mel has overcome intervertebral disc degeneration in her spine and is now thrilled to go for walks and hikes, exploring all the neighborhood scents. She loves playing with toys (especially her favorite big, plush piggy) and has everyone wrapped around her little paw with cozy snuggles. Mel’s adoption fee is sponsored, and our clinic will provide a lifetime of rechecks for non-urgent veterinary care, and a lifetime supply of her Heartgard, Nexgard, Rimadyl, Gabapentin, and Fluoxetine medications. Can you help celebrate Mel’s “unbirthday” today by sharing her story and telling your friends about this sweetheart?

“It’s animal adoption day at ARF, but for close to 365 days, Mel has been passed over. And while volunteers have grown attached to her, their one wish is that she finds a forever home.”
