Get to Know Our Pet Hug Pack®!

Some of the most impactful volunteers at Joybound People & Pets walk on four legs. The certified cuddlers of our Pet Hug Pack® are made up of specially qualified therapy cats and dogs who, alongside their devoted human handlers, bring comfort, connection, and smiles to people in hospitals, senior centers, schools, and more. They’re calm. They’re kind. And many of them were once rescued themselves — like Espy.

After being born at our shelter, Espy was adopted by a loving family — and together, they continue to be part of Joybound: “Espy is now a certified therapy dog with Joybound’s Pet Hug Pack, volunteering in schools, libraries, and senior centers. This sweet, gentle giant spreads love and comfort wherever he goes, and we couldn’t be more proud of him!”

– Cloris, Espy’s Adopter

These animals are paying it forward by offering the same love and healing they once received to others in need. It’s the human-animal bond in its purest form: people helping animals, and animals helping people.
