Joybound Takes Over Downtown Danville

On August 13, Joybound People & Pets brought a little extra tail-wagging fun to downtown Danville with our first-ever Joybound Around Town in Danville event! Designed as a smaller-scale companion event to the upcoming Joybound Around Town on Broadway festival in Walnut Creek, the evening transformed Prospect Park Plaza and surrounding businesses into a celebration of animals, community, and connection. The free event invited families, friends, and pet lovers to stroll through downtown, meet adoptable animals, enjoy live entertainment, and learn more about Joybound’s programs.

Visitors enjoyed live music, children’s activities, games, and the chance to meet some of Joybound’s cutest adoptable puppies and kittens. Our Pet Hug Pack therapy dogs, Sophie, Ray, and Apollo, were crowd favorites, bringing smiles and comfort to guests of all ages. Throughout the evening, community members gathered to connect with one another, celebrate the human-animal bond, and experience firsthand the impact of Joybound’s work.

The event also showcased the incredible generosity of the Danville community. More than 20 local businesses partnered with Joybound for the event, with many offering special promotions that benefited our mission or donating directly to support our programs. Their enthusiasm and participation helped create a truly welcoming atmosphere while raising awareness for animals and people in need throughout our community. Adding to the excitement, Danville Mayor Newell Arnerich stopped by to join the festivities and show support for the event. His presence reflected the strong community spirit that made the evening such a success and highlighted the importance of local partnerships in creating positive change.

Joybound Around Town on Broadway is Almost Here!

Joybound Around Town in Danville gave us a chance to bring people together around a shared love of animals while building excitement for the return of Joybound Around Town on Broadway in Walnut Creek. If the energy and enthusiasm in Danville were any indication, we’re looking forward to an unforgettable celebration next month.

Held exactly one month after Joybound Around Town in Danville (on Sunday, September 13), this action-packed day of fun in Walnut Creek is one of our biggest annual events every year! Get ready for a day filled with live music, the always-adorable Paw-rade Walk, the Pet Wellness Festival, costume contests, and plenty of activities for people and pets alike.

Your participation helps support Joybound’s programs across Contra Costa County, while bringing the community together for a day of joy, connection, and a whole lot of tail wags.
