Animal Shelters Urge Area Families to Adopt for Holidays

More than a dozen animal shelters in Alameda and Contra Costa counties are encouraging East Bay families to consider adopting a pet for the holidays.
East Bay shelters have continued to see an increase in rescued animals since the COVID-19 pandemic, including purebred and mixed-breed dogs and cats, according to the Valley Humane Society (VHS) in Pleasanton.
