We’re putting the finishing touches on a complete remodel to make your shopping experience even better — fresh, fabulous, and full of the great thrift finds you love. Even more exciting: we’re adding a brand-new Cat Lounge & Adoption Center, where you can relax and spend time with adorable, adoptable cats.

- Thrift Store donations accepted: Donations to the Thrift Store are once again being accepted!
- Thrift Store re-opening: We plan to open for Thrift Store customers on Monday, January 5.
- Cat Lounge & Adoption Center public opening date : Coming Soon!
- Grand Re-Opening Event: We plan to host a community event celebrating the Thrift Store’s re-opening on Wednesday, February 11.

The Joybound Thrift Store & Cat Lounge can be found at 1950 Market Street, Suite I in Concord, CA. If you visited the Joybound Thrift Store before 2025, you’ll recognize our new-and-improved location — it’s directly next door!

The Joybound Thrift Store & Cat Lounge is grateful to accept new and gently used items. This means that donated items must be reasonably clean and in working order. See below for lists of items we are able to (and unable to) accept. Any exceptions to the lists “unable to accept” list below must be approved by a store manager.

The Cat Lounge

Adopt a cat today and provide a shelter kitty with a second chance at love. Joybound’s intake & admissions team makes multiple trips every week to partner shelters across California, so available animals are updated daily. For information on what to expect, learn more about our adoption process.
Joybound’s Thrift Store & Cat Lounge keeps a handful of gregarious, adoptable adult cats onsite who guests are welcome to meet. If you are interested in bringing home a kitten, a dog, or a puppy, please visit our main Walnut Creek adoption center.
Cat Adoption Fees
- Cat – $100
- Special-Needs Cat – $50
- Senior Cat (7+ years) – $50
Adoption fees are always waived for U.S. military Veterans.
Select animals have their adoption fees sponsored by generous admirers. Interested in sponsoring a shelter animal? Your tax-deducible donation can cover the adoption fee of a shelter pet and give a family an extra incentive to adopt them.
