Joybound Around Town on Broadway

The animal welfare community was out in full force on May 19 for Joybound Around Town on Broadway. This incredible annual festival, formerly called Animals on Broadway, is an opportunity for people and pets alike to celebrate the human-animal bond. Paws hit the pavement as the morning began with an easy, one-mile pet walk around downtown Walnut Creek. Then, the fun continued into the late afternoon with our action-packed pet festival.

The festival included children’s activities and face-painting, dog training demonstrations from Joybound’s trainers, a showcase of service dog skills from a Shelter to Service team, and – of course – the beloved best-dressed pet contest! With hundreds of passionate attendees, partnerships with more dedicated sponsors than ever, adoptable animals from shelters across Northern California, and more than $110,000 raised for Joybound’s programs, we’d call this year’s event a rousing success.

About the Paw-rade Pet Walk

Joybound Around Town on Broadway begins at 10 am with a celebratory pet walk. Participants make the easy, one-mile trek around Broadway Plaza with their furry friends. Team leaders use Joybound’s online portal to invite friends, family, co-workers, and any other fellow animal lovers to join their team and raise funds to give more animals safe, healthy, loving homes. We even have exciting prizes for our top fundraisers and top fundraising teams!

About the Pet Festival

After the completion of the Paw-rade, the day of fun continues into the afternoon with our pet wellness festival! With the streets of Broadway Plaza lined with pet-related booths and activities, guests will enjoy fun for pets and people of all ages. Plus, don’t miss the event’s popular Best-Dressed Pet Contest on the main stage!
