“ARF was a lifeline last year for thousands of animals and people, and in every case we supported, we witnessed the joy of the human-animal bond.”

– Susan lee vick, ARF CEO

Since joining ARF as CEO in December 2022, I have been in awe of this amazing organization’s energized and visionary efforts — made possible by supporters, volunteers, and partners like you — to enrich the lives of pets and the people who love them.

Building on more than three decades of lifesaving and life-changing work, ARF has accelerated its response to challenges such as surging shelter populations, spay/neuter backlogs, national shortages of dog training and veterinary care, and the difficulties that confront pet families in a tightening economy. ARF’s focus on and dedication to addressing these challenges positions us at the forefront of positive change in animal welfare and how our society will view and care for companion animals for years to come.

ARF was a lifeline last year for thousands of animals and people, and in every case we supported, we witnessed the joy of the human-animal bond. Our FoodShare program distributed over 185,000 pounds of free food and litter to cats and dogs. The ARF Emergency Medical Fund® helped pets overcome seemingly hopeless health crises, while the Pet Hug Pack® delivered healing happiness to those in greatest need at hospitals, schools, and senior centers.

Adoption operations moved to a seven-day-a-week schedule to match more pets with caring guardians and our training program answered overwhelming demand with an accelerated slate of classes. In a particularly proud moment, the Pets and Vets program graduated a new class of Veterans and their service dog partners in a celebration of ARF’s ongoing commitment to those seeking greater stability through unconditional love.

You and other generous supporters made these and many more joyful outcomes possible. Every day your open-hearted giving inspires ARF’s staff and volunteers to form, support, elevate, and celebrate the joyful bond between people and pets. Thank you for helping make life happier for dogs, cats, and people!

Sincerely,

Susan Lee Vick, ARF Chief Executive Officer
