We are looking to find a new home for our loving, playful, cuddly 4 year old black lab mix, Monty. He is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations. While he was a great dog for us before we had children, we have sadly realized that he is not a good fit for a home with very young children. He’s good with kids that he doesn’t live with, and people in general (except the mailman). We think he could live well in a home with older kids or with other dogs, though not with cats.
Monty is smart, easy to train, healthy, and loves hanging around people. He enjoys off-leash walks, cleaning up crumbs, balls, and napping the day away. He has great recall and inhibition, and doesn’t mind being left at home all day.
We are looking to find the right home for him with someone who appreciates his goofy personality and is experienced with dogs. While he’s usually very sweet, he needs someone who can work with his occasional reactivity to other dogs and who has the right home life for him.
