2½ years old, Martinez

Misty is very social, she likes to be wherever the people are. She is a bit shy and weary of strangers but I’ve had people stay at my apartment while I was on vacation and she took to them within a day or two, wanting to be next to them quite a bit. Squirt is very unsocial. She will only scratch if absolutely provoked but I really think she has the potential to be better socialized, I simply have not had the time as I work and am a full time student. She tends to lay in the cat tree and watch everything that happens. They are very good at hiding but have never tried to escape so don’t be afraid if you come home and don’t see them right away, they’re there!

Although it is very common, Misty & Squirt were diagnosed with feline herpes, it is also highly contagious and none of the solutions I have been able to find are 100% guaranteed to prevent the disease. Misty’s case is slightly more severe than most, while it does not affect her way of living it is very obvious that she has it. Misty is extremely sweet, she has never bit or scratched me (on purpose), she always lets me trim her nails and put her in sweaters. Squirt on the other hand does not like to be handled so they would need to go to someone who has a lot of compassion and the extra time to put into socializing her.
