5 years old, 55 pounds, Richmond.

Maybe is an incredibly sweet dog who has endured some challenging circumstances and transitions, but she is ready to find a loving home where she can truly shine. She loves people, including kids, and is fully potty trained with no accidents. Maybe is respectful around human food and furniture, and she’s not a barker. She is also very tolerant of invasive touch, making her a great companion for those who enjoy close contact. Maybe is excellent in the car and knows some basic commands. She’s responsive to training, motivated by both food and praise, and has received a full veterinary assessment and treatment, including dental work. She walks nicely on a leash, though she can be reactive (more on that below).

Maybe’s biggest challenge is her reactivity toward other animals, particularly when greeting most dogs. She bit an off-leash dog that charged her, and she would benefit from an adopter without other pets or someone who is experienced with managing dog aggression. She is tolerant of slower-moving animals, like chickens. While she can be jumpy when meeting new people, she has made progress and continues to improve. Maybe also experiences some separation anxiety but has shown significant improvement in this area as well. With the right home and understanding, Maybe has the potential to become a wonderful, loving companion.
