7 years old, 68 pounds, San Leandro.
Hi there!
Let me introduce you to this handsome fella named Kai. I’ve been navigating life with him since he was a little jelly bean at 3 months old and he is now 7years! He is the greatest love bug you could possibly ask for. We can either spend hours on end in the bed cuddled up being lazy potatoes, or he’s always down for either a hike or stroll around the park. His favorite toy in the entire world is a dirty tennis ball or a stuffed animal he can toss at you to throw for him. If you can’t tell..he loves fetch!
Looking for a family-friendly furball? This pup is a kid-loving champ who’s ready to be your little one’s best friend and adventure buddy- Kai is incredibly gentle with kids and has a knack for being a calm and loving companion for all little humans. Not food aggressive in the slightest bit, you’re able to stick your hand in his food bowl and pet him while eating without any issues. He’s great with being handled, so you can touch his face, feet, and body without any issues.
Kai has been introduced to kittens before in the past, but he was more scared of them more than anything but curious at the same time, he would need a slow introduction to any adult cats but I imagine he would do wonderful. He is best suited to be in a home of other adult dogs, as he prefers a more mature and calm environment. He has been around plenty of other dogs (my roommate currently has 3 dogs of her own), but doesn’t tend to be too fond of energetic puppies jumping in his face.
On walks he can be a bit reactive when he sees other dogs, he huffs and puffs might wine but he benefits from a little extra patience and consistent training. With the right approach of knowing how to work with him when seeing another dog on the street, the walks are still very enjoyable for the both of you. You do learn his tendencies and it’s extremely easy to work with him. Just like with cats, he does require a slow introduction with other new dogs to start off with, then he is bouncing around playing with them. Actually does best not being the only dog in the family, he could thrive in a family without other dogs but he could possibly have some anxiety being alone all day.
No health concerns at this time. Currently, he’s on Kirkland Signature Nature’s Domain Salmon and Sweet Potato Formula Dog Food- as he has some sensitivity to chicken-based foods and could get a little itchy. Kai is house-trained and roams freely while I’m at work.
Unfortunately, I need to rehome Kai due to difficulties finding pet-friendly housing within my budget that either accepts dogs, they only allow small dogs, or has a breed restriction. I’m seeking a loving home where Kai can continue to thrive and receive the care he deserves. I am looking to rehome him before November. I truly love him with all my heart and hope to find a family that will appreciate his unique qualities and perhaps allow me to still be in his life.
Thank you for considering giving Kai a new loving home!
